Hi, my name is Steven Rivera and I would like to introduce myself to the City of Hillsboro as the Certified Building Official, task as the Administrator of the Building Department. My first duty is to assure that the citizens of Hillsboro are safe and, secure from dangers from any buildings; new or existing.

Additionally, I am a proud Army veteran of the United States of America. I served mostly during the cold war in Europe as a Radio Teletype/Satellite Communications Operator. I did my basic training at Fort Bliss Texas and my Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia.  I graduated top ten percent of my graduating class at the school of the United States Signal Corps.

I am also a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati. I have an Associate of Applied Business degree and a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Paralegal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice.

I came to be a Building Official through the electrical trade. I worked as an industrial electrician for several Cincinnati area contractors for about 20 years and 17 years as a State Certified Building Inspector.

I enjoy what I do and have learned a lot through the contractor/inspector interactions. There is always room to learn and the industry is always changing. As a building department administrator; as the industry changes, so must the building department’s operation to better serve the citizens of Hillsboro.

I am excited to continue to serve as the administrator of the building department and looking forward to working with all of you. Please do not hesitate to call me or the building department if you have any concerns or questions. We are here for you.

Hi! My name is Amber Snow and I am your main contact for the Building Department. I am a lifelong resident of Highland County and am excited to be working in the city of Hillsboro. My position has various roles, one of my favorites being the Building Department. I am the person you submit your application to, call for inspections and everything in between!
